When are classes?
Regular Saturday classes meet 1:00–3:00 PM at the Hindu Temple of Wisconsin (HTW). Online level classes may also appear on the school calendar on weekday evenings.
What ages do you serve?
Milwaukee Marathi Shala serves learners roughly ages 5–14, placed by Marathi level. Contact us if you are unsure which level fits your child.
How do I apply?
Open the admissions Google Form on the Admissions page, pay the annual fee via Zelle (see the Pay page), and email payment confirmation to mmm.marathishala@gmail.com.
Where do new students start?
All new admissions — regardless of age or U.S. school grade — begin in Balvarg or Pragat Balvarg. Midterm assessments help us place students for faster progress when they are ready.
Is registration and fee payment required to attend?
Yes. Registration and fee payment are required to attend. If your family has a special situation, please talk with the school in-charge before classes begin.
How long is the BMM education program?
The BMM Marathi Shala path is a six-year program from Balvarg through 5th grade. These Marathi levels are not the same as your child’s U.S. school grades.
What is included in the school fee?
Your annual Milwaukee Marathi Shala fee helps cover: (1) rent for school space; (2) BMM books for your student’s Marathi grade; (3) stationery; (4) BMM learning offerings such as movies, online sessions, and topic training; (5) BMM competitions such as Killa Spardha and Samoohgaan Spardha; (6) school software — GuruVidyaZen SISLMS; and (7) midterm exams.
What is not included in the school fee?
Not included: (1) final exam fees payable to BMM; (2) Balbharati exam fees and books; (3) Milwaukee Marathi Mandal (MMM) events and MMM membership; and (4) Avant Seal of Biliteracy training and related fees.
Who teaches at Milwaukee Marathi Shala?
All teachers are volunteers. Please respect their time and the commitment they give to this community program.
What is SISLMS?
SISLMS is our school operations portal on GuruVidyaZen. Families and staff sign in there for class access — not on this public website. Access is included with school registration.
What books does the school use?
We follow the Bharatiya Marathi Mandal (BMM) Marathi Shala curriculum. BMM books for your student’s Marathi grade are included in the annual fee; Balbharati books and exams are separate.
